As Senior Vice President of Universal Health Services, Inc. and President of the company’s Behavioral Health Division since 1999, Debbie Osteen has led her division to become the largest system of freestanding behavioral health facilities in the United States.  Under her leadership, through acquisition, expansion and addition, the division has grown from 23 to 195 behavioral facilities. The division currently operates approximately 20,000 inpatient psychiatric beds and treats more than 400,000 patients yearly in 37 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Ms. Osteen joined UHS in 1984 and was named Chief Executive Officer of The BridgeWay in North Little Rock, Arkansas in 1987.  She was appointed President of the Behavioral Health Division in 1999 and UHS Senior Vice President in 2005.  

Ms. Osteen is a past president of the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems and currently serves on their Executive Committee. In 2007, 2011 and again in 2013 she was named one of the “Top 25 Women in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare magazine.
