Relevant Objectives by Project Phase

Project Definition

  • Define the gaps, problems, or opportunities in training/standards relevant to suicide prevention
  • Determine task force role in standards/certification/accreditation

Design and Prototype

  • Confirm a “design team” to review resources to endorse model(s) of standards/training
  • Create/review draft of standards, and provide draft to accreditors/key/general stakeholders; revise product/standards based on input

Prototype Testing

  • Pilot “prototype” standards with key stakeholders and with external market via “partners”
  • Gather/elicit feedback regarding standards; revise standards/processes based on assessment of clinical user experience of standards training during pilot


  • Initiate a deployment plan, in conjunction with partners/stakeholders
  • Establish multiple joint communication plans targeting different groups; identify key distribution measure/targets

Ongoing Operations Support – Distribution

  • Assess pre-post standards partnership and track potential “trained professionals” from baseline
  • Address recommendations of the task force with key stakeholders
  • Establish potential “practice registry” at same level(s)
  • Determine joint long-term quality oversight partnership with key stakeholders
